Dancing Coyote Beach is the ideal place to stay while enjoying the many attractions of Point Reyes. Point Reyes National Seashore is over 100 square miles of coastal wilderness and beaches, with 147 miles of trails along dramatic cliffs and thorough grasslands, marshes and forests. After spending your day at a beach, birding, hiking, kayaking, and watching the rare Tule elk, you'll be glad that "home" and a cozy fire is just minutes away.
According to the Point Reyes National Seashore official web site, "The most popular area for kayaking at Point Reyes National Seashore is on Tomales Bay. Tomales Bay is a 15-mile long, 6780-acre tidal water body located in rural west Marin County, California. It is the largest unspoiled coastal embayment on the coast of California."
Nearby communities include Pt. Reyes Station, Olema, Nicasio, Tomales, Marshall, Bolinas, Stinson Beach, Bodega Bay, and Dillon Beach. Pt. Reyes Station offers restaurants, groceries, clothing and book stores, as well as a great farmers' market on Saturday mornings in the summer. Be sure to sample our local cheeses and oysters.
Audubon Canyon Ranch, on Bolinas Lagoon to the south, offers spectacular viewing of active heron and egret nests from the third weekend in March through the second weekend in July. Visit their web site for the days and hours they are open.
Horseback riding is available through Five Brooks Ranch, in nearby Olema.
